Centipede Visit to Room 1!
We discovered a centipede on the concrete at lunchtime.
It was much bigger than centipedes we had seen before.
We discovered that it is a centipede that you only find in Auckland.
Centipedes like to live in damp places. Under the bark in our school gardens is a good place for centipedes.
Centipedes are harmless to humans, so we weren't scared, even though it was pretty big!
Centipedes eat other insects, spiders and even cockroaches.
We were fascinated by the centipede. When we were finished looking we put the centipede safely back in the garden. We hope that he found some good bark to hide under!
